Maritta is a lifelong editor, writer, and teacher. She spent the first 15 years of her professional career as a teacher at both the high school and college levels. Then she decided to put her “money where her mouth was” and worked for several years as a freelance editor and writer, finishing up with 15 years as the editorial supervisor for the contractor publications department at the National Cancer Institute at Frederick, now the National Laboratory of Cancer Research. Maritta and her husband, a longtime football and track coach, live in Maryland, and are blessed that both their sons and their families live on the same street they do!
